I’ve always been drawn to Mary Meyer‘s graphic use of prints, especially those playing on the idea of cutouts and negative space. This tent dress is no exception and I’ve been happily jaunting in it ever since it’s come into my possession. The MM Fall 2012 collection encompasses a good mix of easy basics (a printed tee, a shift dress), mixed with more specialty pieces, my favorites include a degrade hem skater dress and window pane leggings. Her customized prints are unique, not too serious and fun to wear. Can’t you tell?

Hold It
After seeing all the neon effect necklaces out and about I couldn’t help desiring a little rhinestone sparkle in my life. I found a great vintage piece and was going for more of a Margiela powder coat, but had to scratch the idea due to possible poisonous side effects. I ended up going with my original plan, which just proves you should always stick with your first instincts.
Moustache Man and I have been cruising the city for our latest photo sets. I’m happy to say that we’ve found some great spots around my old internship stomping grounds bringing back fond memories of the burrito truck, diaper photo shoots and general footwear design genius. More later.

Sports have never been my thing. (What’s the point if you can hit the ball, but can’t catch it?) I have, however, been googly-eyed over the recent sporty looks I’ve seen. Racer tanks, sports bras and sweats have never been so coveted.
I’ve been more open to adding brights and prints into my wardrobe. Might as well have a little fun right? Lately, I’ve been obsessing (a little unhealthily) over neon yellow. I missed out on the perfect slip dress in the shade, but I’m consoling myself with the thought of my latest purchase.

How to whistle

You just put your lips together and blow.
These past few days have been a blur . . . I’ve got so much work I actually wish we didn’t have a long weekend. But then I think about Thanksgiving and my birthday and know that’s all silly talk. Let the festivities begin!

Moustache Man said this is my space outfit. If only I had thought to add those eyebrows, it would have been perfect!
As of next week, I am officially a one job woman. I now have weekends like normal folk . . . I still can’t believe it.
C of my heart is in town this weekend and I can’t wait to spend some quality time with her. It’s hard to stay in touch when a friend moves away, but it makes it that much more special when you find your way back together. On tomorrow’s agenda I foresee a sweet x savoury brunch followed by a much anticipated day at the beach, and of course sharing a ciggie with some heart to heart chit chat. Can you believe I’ve gone to the beach only once this summer?? We shall soon fix that!! Heh, heh.
