pleats please

Ever since Peter Jensen made his tulle front dress, I’ve been interested in silhouettes that play with layered texture. The strand dress has a pleated front panel that layers over a strapless power mesh slip. Adding the cincher belt gives some shape, but allows the pleats to move freely. Knotted belts look cool, but can be fussy (you need a good vintage belt that’s soft enough to loop and stay), so I made it fully fashioned, with a metal hook to fasten at center back.

I’ve been working on my portfolio . . . just getting my hand back and sketching things I’d like to wear. I’m anxious to give the croquis more personality and dress them in my designs!

the city
Hullo there, I’ve waited to see you for a long time.
Going on a vacay, so I pulled some images that make me think of the city. It’s going to be freakin’ awesome. Vacation hard on five. SLAP!
I got some great, meaty comments my last post. Whenever I set into a blogger’s malaise caused by bloggeroos complimenting my dress, which is really a shirt and a pair of pants, I need feedback letting me know people care to read what dkfjsdljakjsiewoewoiuldjfa I’m writing. Thanks.
